Lake Monticello Rescue Squad

The Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. is a not for profit 501(c)3 corporation that provides emergency services to the Lake Monticello area and Fluvanna County. It consists of three operational units, Fire, Rescue, and Water Rescue as well as one support unit, the Auxiliary.
The purposes for which the corporation is formed are to engage in fire suppression, to provide rescue services, including water rescue, and such other public emergency services as may be determined pursuant to the Bylaws of the Corporation to the citizens of Fluvanna county and to enter into agreements of mutual assistance with similar public emergency service organizations for the provisions of such services within Fluvanna County and surrounding areas.
Divisions of the Corporation

Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire and Rescue Inc. is an umbrella corporation which oversees and performs the official business of the four (4) primary divisions of the organization. Each of these divisions provides a different service to our community. All Organization-wide decisions are made through the Board of Directors (BOD).

The Greene Country Rescue Squad (GCRS) is a volunteer organization that is dedicated to serving the county of Greene and surrounding communities. We are a volunteer organization striving for the highest level of emergency care offered to the citizens of Greene County as well as providing basic and advanced life support to all citizens. We respond to 911 calls 24/7, 365 days a year. To us, it doesn't matter what the weather is outside, or what holiday it is, we will do our best to respond to those who need us. We are trained to provide the best patient care possible and that's our goal.

Monday Mention! 
Fluvanna County Rescue Squad, Inc. (FCRS), is a not for profit 501(c)3 corporation and has been providing EMS services to the Citizens of Fluvanna County, Virginia, since 1970. We have approximately 25 volunteer members assisting in the delivery of basic and advanced life support care for the citizens of Fluvanna County and surrounding communities. FCRS also works with a private ambulance service to ensure EMS coverage to the citizens 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In 2017, FCRS provided emergency care for over 1300 EMS calls. FCRS operates three ambulances at basic, trauma, and paramedic levels and houses two duty stations within the County. We also provide excellent training and continuing education opportunities to all members. Our mission is to provide the highest level of pre-hospital emergency care to the citizens of Fluvanna County in their time of need. Starting our new Monday Mention with Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad or CARS. Monday Mention: CARS or Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad. 
CARS is a volunteer rescue squad with approximately 160 active members. We have been serving the community continuously since 1960. We are a member of the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads assigned to District I. CARS operates eight advanced life ambulances (medic units), three advanced life support quick response cars (zone cars), two heavy rescue trucks (squads), a water rescue truck with two boats, a technical rescue truck, a collapse rescue trailer, a command car, a mass causality incident truck and a special events bicycle response team with support trailer. All current apparatus is owned by the department and was purchased primarily with funds raised through donations from our community.

Emergency Medical Responder Training

Emergency Training Solutions in Association with the TJEMS Council is hosting an Emergency Medical Responder Training. Registration deadline is February 20, 2018. Classes start March 1st and end May 26th. 

The prerequisites: A valid healthcare level CPR card (AHA, American Red Cross, ASHI) that will not expire for the duration of the course.

Tuition includes course textbook.
