1.  **NEW Requirement*** BLS Recertification Waiver Requirements!

As of January 1, 2010, there is a new policy on provider recertification exemption waivers.  The Operating Medical Director’s (OMD’s) put into effect the following criteria to be considered for exemption.  First Responder and/or EMT providers must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a member of a licensed EMS agency
  • Must have complete all required hours for their level of certification
  • Received an Eligibility Letter from the Office of EMS
  • Must provide a copy of a current Healthprovider CPR card
  • Must have attended and completed the mandatory TJEMS “Skills Drill” each year during the recertification period
  • Have been in “good standing” during their certification period (not have had any suspensions of clinical privileges, corrective actions, etc.).
  • Must have attended three (3) TJEMS CE training sessions each year during the recertification period in addition to the annual skills drill (skills drill does not count as a CE session).

Remember: The Agencies OMD has the final disposition on exemption from testing.
