Madison County EMS.
Madison County added a new department of EMS. Madison EMS is the county’s “paid” EMS department. We are county employees who answer 911 calls for medical help during the daytime, from 5 am until 6 pm. We also provide supplemental staffing to the volunteers at night.
MEMS is primarily an Advanced Life Support Agency. That means that nearly all of our employees are certified at the EMT-Intermediate, Paramedic or Critical Care Paramedic level. In addition, many of our employees are firefighters, and/or trained in vehicle extrication, technical rescue, and hazardous materials emergencies.
